Gifted and Talented Literacy Project - Autumn 09

By Sarah Woods

Pupils from the Gifted and Talented Strand of Partnership East Norfolk Schools attended weekly workshops at the Time and Tide museum as part of a literacy project entitled 'Children's Choice'.

During the workshops the pupils took on the role of Temporary Assisstant Curator and explored objects which were not usually on display in the galleries. They then persuaded their peers and the Museum Curator to place their selected items in a temporary 'Children's Choice' exhibition. The pupils did this by carrying out research, designing text boxes and preparing a presentation to deliver to class.

The Pupils prentations and persuasive appeals were so impressive that it was decided to include all objects in a temporary exhibition. Family, friends and school staff were invited to view the pupils handiwork, which was held in the Time and Tide Education Room

Attached are photographs of the objects included in the exhibition
