During the hey days of the summer there were shows on both piers and Sunday whistle stop shows at the Regal theatre/cinema. My mother's friend had a boarding house on Nelson road and she had many big name stars lodging at her place and of course free family tickets for the odd shows. I was given two tickets for a sunday show at the regal it was JUST JANE (of the daily mirror paper). After the show I got her autograph which I still have, her act was of nude posers in large picture type frames but very tastefully done, I must add I was 12 years old at that time and it was a bit of a shock to the system.
Still there were lots of other shows and stars to meet.

I'm so disappointed that I missed Colins talk on Entertainment last November - I wasn't a member of this site then so didn't realise it was going on! Will he be doing another talk on that subject in the 50's and 60's?
What about memories of the Water Follies at the big outdoor swimming pool?
