This postcard shows the Market Place, with the Blue Coat School on the right.

This is clearly post-1905, as the tram is not horse-drawn.

The place where the School stood is now the Market Gates Shopping Precinct.

Has anyone any memories of the School?

What a great picture from long time ago.The market place looks vibrant , full of people. I know that we all have to move with the times, but looking at that photograph of the market then and looking at what's in it's place now, makes me think that the character has been sucked out of the market area , it's soulless.
