The first photo is of Wendy Parker (nee Rudrum) but the second photo is of Sheila Wilkinson her partner Howiath Hargreaves can just be seen in the background. The clothes Sheila is wearing are her Roller Revels show clothes, the year photo was taken she was expecting her baby. The same year she won the Great British roller skating crown. She skated in the show right up till she was 7-8 months pregnant, she finished her routine with a splits but Howith said she would have to stop doing the end of the routine. I can not remember whether baby was boy or girl?

The photograph headed 'Pat & Brian Colclough skating at Wellington Pier, c 1950' Is in fact me skating with Wendy Parker nee Rudrum. I am amused by this picture because it was submitted by Peter Parker, Wendy's husband. I'm sure he did not write the caption, if he did I will pull his leg at the next skating reunion in Great Yarmouth

Thank you for clearing up this mystery for us, we only yesterday visited Great Yarmouth and found this waste piece of land near the Pier. I thought it could possibly have been an outdoor swimming pool, now we know what it used to be! The tiled wall backing out to the beach is still there!

Thank you for the wonderful photos. I have recently learnt to rollerskate (on quads, not the new in-lines), and loved these pictures - I have even set the first one as my background on my works pc as I find it rather inspiring! (I hope this is ok).
