Mr. O. Edwards donated this photograph. He was born in the Earl St Vincent public house, which was owned by Lacons Brewery and licensed by his father. It was situated at number 93 Kings Street; he said that the building next door whose windows can just be seen was the Co-op Factory that manufactured soup.
When his father died in the 1920s his mother took over the licence of the pub and ran it until the building was damaged during a bombing raid in WWII, it was later demolished. His mother continued to work as a pub landlady until her death in 1961; the last pub she ran was the St Peters pub on St Peters Road.
