I am delighted to find this site.

 It is really neat to see the photo's and blog of the times in the 50's when I remember Gt Yarmouth. I lived in Northgate Hospital where my parents worked.I went to St Andrew's (1949) and then Priory School until around 1954, when we moved from Gt Yarmouth.

 I remember those teachers; Miss Spandler who was the headmistress and Miss Jary (?)  and most of the girls names, none of the boys I am afraid!

Patricia Furness was a good friend but she moved to Doncaster later.

At Priory school I remember Miss Esther Huckett, with whom I kept contact for years .She retired to Malvern, Worcs.

I have included three photo's from 3 different years at St Andrew's school, I do not have one of Priory School. I am second on right front row in the first photo.

I live in New Brunswick, Canada now and planning to come to the UK this year (last visit was 2004) I definitely plan to visit Yarmouth-how different will it be?

Miss Spandler was indeed head of this school , she was my Great Aunt and very cherished by her family. She loved children and her work.

I am sure I appear in the photos of st Andrews school in 1950 and I went on to St Nicholas priory school and the tech high school. I left Yarmouth in 1965 and moved to the Birmingham area and in 1990 I moved to the south of Spain where I have lived for the past 33 years. I would love to hear from somebody who remembers me!
