Our Interview with Miss Hopley - Headteacher
Key Stage 2, (Year 3, 4 and 5 Juniper and Willberry Classes) interviewed our Headteacher, Miss Hopley. Here are some of the reports that Juniper Class wrote based on our findings.
Interview with Miss Hopley
We did an interview with Miss Hopley to get some primary information for our school project and to learn some things about about her teaching experience. We asked her questions about the future and the past. She came to our classroom. Our great school has been open for almost 90 years.
Miss Hopley was born in Derby and moved at 6 years old.She was qualified at Peter house in 1984 and stayed there for 3 years. She loves seeing children succeed. Her favourite thing is reading. Her assistant was called Miss Ceicly. Her school in Norwich was called Poringland.
After 3 years in Norfolk she flew to Germany. In Germany she joined the Royal Engineers Regiment. In Germany she had to wear her identity to get in camp or the guards wouldn't let her in. She joined the army as a teacher from then in Nienberg she spoke German.
Back in England Miss Hopley's friends had told Miss Hopley about a 2 day interview at Alderman Swindell Infant School. At her first tour she thought the ceiling was a sign of great hope. There have been a lot of changes since Miss Hopley arrived here. The CASSTLE and the mobile were not here when Miss Hopley arrived. The worst thing about being a headteacher is the tests.
When the school closes she is going to retire, do gardening, watch movies and cook a lot more. Miss Hopley has almost rebuilt the entire school.
Miss Hopley is sad about the school but is looking forward to her retirement. Good luck Miss Hopley on your retirement.

Interview with Miss Hopley
Our class asked Miss Hopley to come to our classroom to interview her because we needed primary information and it is closing at 31st of August. We asked our questions to Miss Hopley. Our school was opened in 1929. The school has nearly been open for 90 years.
Miss Hopley was born in Derby. When she was six she moved to Norfolk. Her favourite lessons were drama, maths, reading and writing. Miss Hopley says, "You can be anything you want to be!"
Miss Hopley flew to Germany and joined the army as a teacher. She wanted to see the world. Miss Hopley went to camp. the camp was guarded by an electric fence. The children were taken by a camp bus. The children stayed there until it was time to go. She needed to wear an ID card to get in and out. Miss Hopley flew to Nienberg.
Miss Hopley flew back to England. She got a job as a headteacher at Alderman Swindell Primary School. She likes the rainbow ceiling and her ipad but she doesn't like that you need to test children. The field didn't used to have a fence around it so people used to walk across it. The CASSTLE didn't used to be there ever. The school logo changed as well. The mobile didn't used to be there either. There used to be lunchtime clubs because there were no clubs after school.
Miss Hopley's future is to retire because the school is going to close. She wants to do her garden, to cut the grass and plant some seeds. She wants to do some cooking, decorate her house, go to the cinema and have a rest, because she has got a lot to do.
Her favourite things in reaching are seeing children have a growth mindset. She really enjoyed this school. Miss Hopley doesn't want the school to close.
We hope she enjoys her retirement.

Interview with Miss Hopley
Our school opened in 1929 and that was 89 years ago. Alderman Swindell has been educating children for nearly 90 years. But our school is closing on 31st August 2018 but it ends in July and we will be celebrating Alderman Swindell for our last, final project. Last Wednesday Miss Hopley came and we asked questions with Year 4 and 5. We asked, when she was first here, what was her first job?, what is her worst part of this school, and more.
Miss Hopley was born in Derby, Derby is in the middle of England. Miss Hopley was 6 years old when she moved to Norfolk. She liked reading and writing. Her favourite lesson was English when she was at school. Miss Hopley's first job was at Peterhouse in Norfolk.
Miss Hopley flew to Germany on August 19th when she was 18. She went to the army and she was a teacher in the army. The children needed to get there on the bus and grown ups needed and Identification Card to get in the army camp. In Germany Miss Hopley could speak German.
After she had fun in Germany she returned to England and then she joined Alderman Swindell as a headteacher. She was headteacher at Alderman Swindell for 16 years. When she was at Alderman Swindell she did some things to this school. She saw that the windows and doors were broken so she got them fixed and the toilets were gross and disgusting so she sorted those too. When she went into the hall she fell in love with the rainbow ceiling.
In the future, Miss Hopley is going to retire after the school closes and she will redecorate her house for her retirement. Miss Hopley also needs to garden because she has long weeds in her garden and she has to cut the weeds for her garden to look very good. Also her favourite sport is running and for her retirement she will be cooking and she will also go to the cinema.
Thank you for reading our interview.
