North Quay and Fullers Hill

Hi Val seeing your pictures of Fullers Hill and Rainbow Corner was a great surprise only very recent I have found out via a Sue Bennett who writes for the Lets Talk magazine also who sent me my mother's birth certificate it states that she was born at number 3 Rainbow Corner so you can see that I am very interested in knowing more about your pictures? i.e. are they at the Time and Tide Museum? kind regards

Thank you for posting these pictures, my family tree research led me to no. 7 Rainbow Corner, where I believe my Great Grandfather and family, plus lodgers lived - from the 1901 census. Pictures from their time makes it all the more worthwhile. Fantastic!

John Wilkinson I lived no 7 Rainbow Corner in 1953 prior to that Mr Perrin the chimney sweep lived there .

Hi Colin Cockle, I am just looking for picture of Rainbow Corner as I lived there with my father who was the chimney sweep Fred Perrin.  His father was called George Perrin and was also a chimney sweep and lived in Row 45 in the 1920's.  If you have any further information, I would be most grateful

I am Eric, your cousin. Son of your father‘s sister Lillian, known all her life to family and friends as “Vera”. You possibly know that your father(my uncle Freddy) was christened John Frederic Percy. Percy being Grandfather George’s real Christian name. He was tagged as George in a ”Naffi“(food hall) during WW1.

 I was born at number 7 Rainbow Corner towards the end of WW2. I well remember the one solitary gas light, in the kitchen and everywhere else in the house being lit by paraffin lamps. Our grandparents,George and May, 9QJRY moved from dear old Rainbow Corner some time in the mid 1950s.

l well remember your mother, Violet, cooking spaghetti, being of Italian descent, in the kitchen of number 7. A food I had never seen before at the age of 4 or 5 years old.
