I remember an antique shop on King Street, that always had a large wooden rocking horse outside

The antique shop with the rocking horse outside was Paul Howkins. I think the family lived on Southtown Road near the 'Flying Angel' fishermen's mission house, during the 1970s at least. I well remember the old rocking horse outside the shop too! I went to school with their daughter Linda. I wonder where she is now?

This is my dad.  He worked very hard to buy his shop, and first sold leather hand made goods to save money to buy electrical goods to sell.  His shop used to be a laundrette before he bought it.  Myself and brother Gary Morris, sisters Mandy, Hayley, Rachel and mum Maureen lived above the shop for about 5 years....fun times!!

Just popped in last week to buy a cable for a dvd player, Vernon Morris still there, helpful as ever. (I only know that it is him as another customer called him by name - so I assume it is the man pictured above?)
